Donor Bill of Rights

Woodlands United Foundation

At Woodlands United Foundation, we believe giving is an act of trust. Every donor deserves confidence that their generosity is honored, protected, and used responsibly. To ensure that trust, we uphold the following Donor Bill of Rights, which outlines what every supporter can expect when contributing to our mission of conservation, youth engagement, and community-based stewardship.

As a donor, you have the right to:

1. Be Informed

To know the Foundation’s mission, how funds will be used, and our capacity to effectively use your contribution for its intended purpose.

2. Responsible Stewardship

To have your gift handled with the highest level of integrity — ensuring resources are used efficiently, transparently, and directly in support of our programs and conservation efforts.

3. Transparency in Financial Reporting

To receive accurate and timely information about the Foundation’s financial status, including annual reports, program updates, and impact summaries.

4. Appropriate Acknowledgment

To receive prompt and meaningful acknowledgment of your donation and to be recognized appropriately unless you request anonymity.

5. Privacy & Confidentiality

To have your personal information protected. We will not share, sell, or trade donor information with any external party without your explicit permission.

6. Control Over Your Giving

To ask questions, request clarification, or place restrictions on your donation — and to have those restrictions honored to the fullest extent possible.

7. Clear Communication

To receive truthful, respectful, and transparent communications about your donation, our programs, our needs, and our impact.

8. Professional Conduct

To expect that all representatives of the Foundation — staff, volunteers, and board members — uphold ethical standards of fundraising and stewardship in every interaction.

9. Assurance Your Gift Is Used for Its Intended Purpose

To know that your donation will directly support the conservation, education, and community programs you care about, and that funds will not be diverted for unrelated activities.

10. Freedom From Undue Pressure

To decide your level of involvement and giving without any coercion, unreasonable persuasion, or undue influence from Foundation representatives.

11. Access to Information

To request and review our IRS Form 990, governance policies, board lists, and other key documents relevant to transparency and accountability.

12. The Opportunity to Ask Questions

To have any question about your donation answered promptly, honestly, and completely.

Our Promise to Donors

Woodlands United Foundation is deeply grateful for your support. Your generosity drives real impact — restoring forests, empowering youth, protecting wildlife, and strengthening communities. We pledge to honor your commitment with transparency, respect, and responsible stewardship every step of the way.
